Upper eyelids
Upper eyelids surgery (blepharoplasty) aims at restoration of their younger look.
The goal is achieved by resection of excessive skin and fat pads when indicated. In some patients upper eyelid blepharoplasty may not be required after correctly performed brow lifting. In others, both procedures are combined during the same surgery. When significant skin excess (blepharochalasis) or drooping eyelid limit visual field, blepharoplasty is medically justified.
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is performed in local anesthesia.
Skin incision are placed in physiologic creases of upper eyelids. Resulting scars are almost imperceptible after normal healing process is complete.
Patient may go home immediately after the surgery.
Fine intracuticular sutures are removed after 7 days.
Return to normal activity is possible after 7-10 days and depends how fast edema subsides.
Aesthetic improvement of operated area can be seen after 6-8 weeks from surgery.
