Removal of Bichat’s fat pads

drpietruski_admin

The aim of this surgery is to reduce the volume of the chubby cheeks, especially in their middle and lower parts. Although a face that has round, well-filled cheeks is considered youthful, some people find that their face appears too full or even chubby. Removal of fat pads eliminates this symptom and causes optical enhancement of zygomatic prominences, what increases the aesthetics and attractiveness of the face. The size of Bichat’s fat pads varies from patient to patient and between sides. The surgery is usually not performed on slim, narrow-faced individuals, as removing fat pads from the cheeks can make the face look more gaunt with age. Also, people with generalized obesity are not good candidates for this procedure.

The surgery is performed under local anesthesia and lasts up to 60 minutes.

Incisions are located on the inside of the cheeks, so the resulting scars are invisible. The wounds are closed with dissolvable sutures, which remove spontaneously after 14-21 days.

Patients leave the clinic immediately after the surgery.  Recovery is 7-10 days. During this time, it is necessary to follow a liquid diet and follow oral hygiene recommendations.

The result obtained is immediate and permanent, although for the first few weeks it obscured by swelling. Fluctuations in body weight, hormonal and metabolic disorders can contribute to its alteration.
