Vaginoplasty
Vaginoplasty is an operation performed in women seeking improvement in function of their vagina.
Multiparous women after physiologic delivery are most frequent candidates for this operation. Multiple childbirths although physiologic, loosen vaginal tissues, increasing its diameter what it turn may deteriorate quality of sexual life. Also scars resulting from incisions performed during delivery in perineal region may have negative effect and are corrected during vaginoplasty.
Vaginoplasty is performed in general anesthesia.
Tightening of the vagina which is the main goal of the operation is performed in two layers: muscular and mucosal.
All incisions are closed with absorbable sutures thus there is no need for their removal.
Patients are discharged home 6h after the surgery.
Patients should refrain from sexual activities for 8 weeks.
Return to normal activity takes 7-10 days.
Although obtained results is long-lasting it is not permanent. The surgery doesn’t stop natural aging process of the vagina. Physiologic childbirth after the vaginoplasty may deteriorate results of this surgery.
