An eyebrow lifting corrects their drooping by moving them upwards.

Candidates for this procedure are patients with low-set, drooping eyebrows, which give the eye frame a “tired” and “worried” look.

This procedure is often associated with upper eyelid surgery.

Dr. Pietrasik performs an eyebrow lift in three ways:
– endoscopic brow lifting
– lateral brow lifting
– direct brow lifting.
Each of these methods has its indications and limitations. They are not interchangeable, but individually selected for each patient after a thorough examination and learning about patient’s expectations.

Endoscopic eyebrow lifting is performed with 3 incisions 1.5 cm long each, located in the hairline on the forehead. Lateral brow lifting is performed from 3-4 cm long incisions in the scalp. A direct eyebrow lifting is performed from the incisions located at the upper border of the eyebrows.

Endoscopic eyebrow lift, as well as side eyebrow lifting, is performed under general anesthesia or iv sedation. Direct eyebrow lifting is performed under local anesthesia.

Patients after an eyebrow lifting are discharged home 6 hours after the surgery. When it is combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures (i.e. facelift, neck lift, eyelid surgery), patients are hospitalized overnight.

Return to normal functioning depends on the scope of surgery and accompanying procedures, but should not exceed 2 weeks.

The appearance is gradually improved over a period of 6-8 weeks.

The results of an eyebrow lifting are long-lasting, but not permanent. Surgery does not stop the natural aging process of this area.
