Thigh lift

drpietruski_admin

Thigh lift is a surgery performed in individuals seeking aesthetic improvement of this part of the body.   Good candidates for this operation are individuals after substantial weight reduction or those with excessive skin and subcutaneous fat tissue resulting from aging.

Excessive skin and subcutaneous tissue are surgically removed and new shape of thighs is created. This surgery is supplementary to diet and physical exercises and is not a method of weight loss itself. In individuals with good skin elasticity and not significant skin excess, laser or ultrasound liposuction may be good option of thigh remodeling.

After detailed examination and analysis of anatomical proportions, Dr Pietrasik presents to the patient surgical plan with the highest chance for obtaining satisfactory result and lowest risk of complications.

Thigh lift is performed in general or epidural anesthesia.

Skin incisions are placed on postero-medial aspect of the thighs so that resulting long scars are not conspicuous in normal upright position. If liposuction only is performed, resulting few short (2-3mm) scars in knee, medial thigh and groin areas are imperceptible after normal healing is complete.

Patient after thigh lift remain in the facility for 1 night.

Return to normal (non-strenuous) activity takes  10-14 days although patient should avoid activities involving increased thigh muscle work for a period of 8 weeks.  Professional activity involving thigh muscles as well as sport activities may be resumed after 3 months.

Compression garment must be worn for 8 weeks after the surgery.

Thigh lift results are good and long-lasting but not permanent. This method remodels thighs but doesn’t stop natural aging processes. Significant weight gain and hormones may change initially obtained result.
