Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation with implants aims at improvement of breast shape by its volume enhancement.
The goal is to create aesthetically attractive and proportional breast what is accomplished by implant insertion.
Most frequent candidates for augmentation are females with small breast from the puberty and breast involution after feeding or significant weight loss.
During consultations Dr Pietrasik extensively discusses issues such as method and volume of augmentation, skin quality, skin incisions, pocket selection, expected results and possible complications. Based on detailed measurements and pictures taken, Dr Pietrasik visualizes the possible result of augmentation in 3D computer system (Vectra) and with breast sizers.
Breast augmentation requires general anesthesia.
Skin incision are placed in submammary creases or periareolar areas depending on patient preference and feasibility.
Patients after breast augmentation are usually discharged home 6 hours after the surgery.
Return to normal (non-strenuous) activity is possible after 7-10 days.
Sport activities involving pectoral muscles can be resumed after 3 months.
Compression supporting bra must be worn for 3 months.
Obtained results of breast augmentation with implants are immediate and long-lasting but not permanent. The procedure doesn’t stop natural aging process of the breast. At certain moment in time implants should be replaced or removed as none of currently available devices is for a lifetime.
Initial result of breast augmentation may be influenced by weight changes, hormones and pregnancies. Breast feeding is still possible after augmentation with implants.
