Breast augmentation (fat grafting)
Breast augmentation with fat tissue transplantation is a procedure intended for women who want to improve the shape and size of their breasts without implants.
Breast augmentation with transferred own adipose tissue is most often performed in women with small breasts, breast asymmetry, postoperative deformities, volume deficit in the upper pole of the breast with good skin quality.
The magnification range is usually from half to one cup.
After listening to the patient’s expectations and examining her, Dr. Pietrasik proposes possible ways of surgery, leaving the patient to make the final decision. During the consultation, the following topics are discussed: the method of breast augmentation, the planned volume of adipose tissue to be transplanted, donor sites, expected results and possible complications.
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia.
Adipose tissue is collected from donor sites (i.e. lower abdomen, thighs, back) in form of liposuction. After sterile preparation, fat is inserted subcutaneously into the breast using cannulas.
The duration of the surgery varies from 1 to 3 hours depending on the size of the enlargement and the availability of adipose tissue.
Most often, patients go home on the day of the procedure.
Return to normal professional activity takes 3-7 days.
In the postoperative period, it is necessary to wear an elastic bra with slight compression for 8 weeks.
Sports exercises can be resumed 1 month after the surgery. The effect is long-lasting, although not permanent. The norm resulting from the specificity of this method is partial (30-50%) absorption of the transplanted tissue, which may require additional administration of fat in the period up to 6 months after the primary procedure. Pregnancy, weight changes, hormonal therapies may affect the result of the procedure.
