Bullhorn lip lift
The treatment is intended for people who want to improve the attractiveness of their lips in a permanent way. During this procedure, the upper lip is shortened, what causes lifting and rolling out of lip’s red part (vermillion). As a result, upper lip looks fuller and more attractive.
The most common candidates are individuals in whom aging caused sagging and elongation of the upper lip and a narrowing of the vermillion. The procedure is also performed in younger individuals, with narrow vermillion but normal length of the lip. The treatment is not intended for people with a short upper lip.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and lasts up to 45 minutes
The buffalo horn-shaped cuts (hence the name) are located at the base of the nose, mostly within the natural creases of the skin. The resulting scar is well camouflaged and hardly visible after the normal healing process is complete.
The effect of the operation is immediate and permanent. Although, in first days after the surgery, swelling may obscure the result. When red part of the lip lacks its volume, it may be augmented with additional procedures such as fat grafting or dermal graft. Although the surgery permanently changes the proportions of the upper lip, it does not stop its natural aging processes.
